InFamous 2 beta extended due to PSN downtime
Sucker Punch: 'Your outcry has been heard'
Posting on Twitter, developer Sucker Punch explained, "We've decided to extend the beta. Once PSN is back up we'll determine by how long, but rest assured: your outcry has been heard."
Meanwhile, Sony has yet to offer a concrete timeframe for PSN's reactivation, but said in an update this morning that it's working to get it back up quickly. Aside from the statement that "an external intrusion" is involved, Sony has not released the cause of the outage, but current speculation suggests that a recent release of custom firmware may be the reason for the shut down.
The releases of Mortal Kombat and Portal 2 also came just before the downtime. We wish we had more to tell you aside from "bummer," but Sony is keeping information sparse. Keep an eye on the PlayStation Blog for updates.
