What are the biggest changes for Fortnite Season 3 in Chapter 6?
Fortnite Season 3 of Chapter 6 launched on June 7 with a Superhero theme, and here are the biggest changes

Fortnite Season 3 has arrived, and no we haven't miscounted – the previous Fortnite Star Wars Galactic Battle was technically a 'mini-season' and therefore did not contribute towards the official numbering. We're now in the Super season, while means we have the likes of Superman flying around the battle royale island, and plenty of new hero powers for players to experiment with. If you want to know more, then here are the biggest changes for Season 3 of Chapter 6 in Fortnite.
There are new Superhero POIs
While the Star Wars named locations from the previous mini-season remain, there are three new Super POIs to investigate:
- Demon’s Domain
- Supernova Academy
- Utopia City
Demon's Domain is Mask Maker Daigo's citadel, where he's plotting to take over the rest of the island, making this a dangerous place to visit. Utopia City is a shining beacon of hope, and you'll find plenty of loot here within the futuristic metropolis. Finally, Supernova Academy provides the training ground for heroes to refine their skills, as well as pick up extra loot – more on that later.
Hero Ranks unlock additional items
You now start each battle royale match at Hero Rank C, but this can be increased through B, A, S, and S+ by completing certain actions that include:
- Eliminating enemy players
- Surviving Storm phases
- Taking a Sprite to a Shrine
- Eliminating henchmen
Each time you level up you'll receive a 100 Effective Health boost, and be able to unlock higher level Hero Caches with better loot within them.
There are fresh weapons to use
As always, the fresh season is marked with a selection of Fortnite new weapons to get to grips with. These include Morgan Myst's Myst Gauntlets that fire out damaging shadow energy, a Tracking Visor that can scan and ping opponents, and a pair of Killswitch Revolvers that allow you to hang in the air if you aim while jumping.
New Boons increase your superpowers
There are four new Boons to collect around the island, or purchase direct from the Academy Tech Labs at Supernova Academy, and these will give you specific bonuses that grow more powerful as your Hero Rank increases:
- Storm Caller Boon replenishes your Shield while in the Storm, with the amount replenished going up with each Hero Rank.
- Rank S bonus = Storm Forecast.
- Speed Healer Boon lets you sprint while using healing items and gain Slap afterwards, with the duration of Slap increasing with each Hero Rank
- Rank S bonus = Gain Slap immediately when using a healing item.
- Combat Acrobat Boon means that parkour (mantling, etc.) partially reloads your equipped weapon, and the amount reloaded goes up with each Hero Rank.
- Rank S bonus = Reloads all your weapons.
- Heightened Senses Boon means that players who attack you are marked, and the duration they’re marked increases with each Hero Rank.
- Rank S bonus = Cooldown is lowered.
There are new Super Sprite Sidekicks
Last but not least, there are two new sprites to replace the Air and Water Sprites from the previous season. These can still be delivered to shrines to receive a bonus, but when held the Dash Sprite grants three Dash charges over time to anyone in its area of effect, while the Superman Sprite can blast anything in front of it using its righteous laser beam gaze.
