Monster Tips

Basic Bait

If you want to land one of your more devastating attacks, incapacitate a Hunter and hide nearby. When their team mates come to pick them up, hit them with the big attack you've been saving.

Initial Onslaught

Map: Any Nest
Monster: Any
When playing Nest as a Monster, armour up and hatch an egg then let the Minion lead you to the Hunters. Stage up to make it even harder for the Hunters.

Karate Kick

Map: Wraith Trap & The Dam
Monster: Any
As the Monster, armour up to prepare for battle then locate some Nomads. Nomads don't seem like much of a threat until you intrude on their territory, then they will charge and kick the Hunters dealing heavy damage. Scare some birds in the area to trick the Hunters into doming the Monster with one or two Nomads and they won't know what hit them - Hunters will often be so focused on the Monster that the Nomads may even incapacitate them for you!

Labyrinth

Map: The Dam
Monster: Any
If you can't shake the Hunters while playing as the Monster on The Dam, head to the caves on the west side of the map. The Monster can often lose the Hunters with some tricky track placement and stealthing.

Left For Dead or Let Them Squirm

Map: Any Defend
Monster: Any
When playing Defend as the Monster, remember that the Hunters' dropship comes back much quicker, so after downing Hunters leave them incapacitated on the ground. This will take them out of the fight for a longer period, giving you more time to inflict damage on the objective or the team.

Fly Away

Map: Any
Monster: Kraken
The Kraken can remain airborne as long as you is dealing damage, so aim air melee shots well while waiting for abilities to recharge and stay in the air as long as possible. If the Hunters pull you down, use Aftershock while near them before bursting back into the air.

Homerun!

Map: Any
Monster: Kraken
Hunters can be knocked back farther by the Vortex Blast when hit at around a 45 degree angle above the Monster. Normally a Hunter can recover from the knockback after a second or two by using the jetpack, but if they're all out of jetpack fuel then they're going, going, gone! You can potentially knock a Hunter back over 100m if the path is clear of obstacles.

Where'd He Go?

Map: Any
Monster: Wraith
Kidnap incapacitated Hunters using Abduction for fun and profit! This is especially fun while watching Lazarus run toward the downed player to revive them.

Abduction Bird Scare

Map: Any
Monster: Wraith
Use Wraith's Abduction ability to scare birds that are far away and mislead the Hunters!

Snack Time

Map: Any
Monster: Wraith
As Wraith, position yourself on a cliff above a Megamouth. Use Abduction to grab a Hunter and drop them onto the Megamouth to give the guy a snack - this also works with Tyrants and Chomp Plants.
