The 2020 Emmy nominations list in full

The Emmy nominations 2020 have been revealed, and Watchmen leads the pack. The timely superhero show picked up 26 nods, including Best Limited Series.

Despite Watchmen leading the way, HBO was trumped by Netflix in overall number of nominations, with the streaming service picking up 160 compared to the prestige network's 137. Netflix's total breaks Emmy records for most nominations in a single year, thanks partly to the sheer number of Netflix shows being made.

Elsewhere, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel came second, the comedy scoring 20 nominations. Netflix's Ozark and HBO's Succession won 18 nominations, while Saturday Night Live, Schitt's Creek, and – to some surprise – The Mandalorian all came away with 15 nominations.

The Star Wars show, which follows the adventures of a mysterious bounty hunter, is up for Best Drama Series and a host of Creative Arts Emmys. The awards – which will be voted on this August – will be handed out via virtual festival across September.
