Diverse open world shown in new Assassin's Creed 4 video

The latest Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag developer diary focuses on Ubisoft Montreal’s bid to create a diverse open world in the upcoming land and seafaring adventure. Environments showcased in the video include cities, jungles and the open sea.

Art director Raphael Lacoste says: “What I like in the game is the diversity, the contrast between the different times of day and the different locations, because each city has a different flavour, each forest and jungle has a different kind of natural landmark… We give many options to the player, we didn’t want to create a linear game, it’s really something open. There are natural environments like jungles, plantations, fishing villages, cities. We try to have very different options [for players] to reach the same target.”

Assassin's Creed 4 will launch on October 29 in the US and November 1 in the UK on PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U. The PC version is expected to release shortly after, while PS4 and Xbox One editions are due to launch when the consoles arrive later in November.
