Destiny: Xur weapons, gear, and location September 4-6. Patience and Time

Destiny's weekend merchant, and runner-up in the Great Tower Bake-Off 2015, Xur is back. He's in the Reef this week, lurking in that little cubby-hole down the stairs. Got a pocket-full of Strange Coins you want to exchange for Exotic weapons and armour? Maybe you've got a bunch of Motes of Light to swap for an Exotic Engram? Well, check out Xur today. Don't forget - he's only around until 10am UK time / 2am Pacific on Sunday September 6... Here's what he's selling this week:

  • Patience and Time (Exotic Sniper Rifle) - 17 Strange Coins
  • The Helm of Saint-14 (Exotic Titan Helmet) - 13 Strange Coins
  • Khepri's Sting (Exotic Hunter Gauntlets) - 13 Strange Coins
  • Obsidian Mind (Exotic Warlock Helmet) - 13 Strange Coins
  • Exotic Shard - 7 Strange Coins
  • Exotic Engram (Helmet) - 23 Motes of Light

Quite a tidy selection of items this week. Should you buy them? Patience and Time is a neat Sniper rifle, and although it doesn't have the killer perk of recharging ammo, like Ice Breaker, it's definitely an item you need in your vault. Having a few seconds of invisibility, and active radar, make you a real nuisance in the Crucible, and can help out if you need to revive allies in PvE. Speaking of invisibility, I'd also recommend that Hunters pick up Khepri's Sting for the exact same reason - it really gives you an edge in multiplayer. Obsidian Mind is a tidy helmet too, especially if you enjoy chaining Nova Bombs as a Warlock. And the Helm of Saint-14? It's brilliant for Defender sub-class Titans, as it makes the Ward of Light virtually impenetrable, and increases your melee attack speed which is great for Force Barrier users.

So, um, hope you have a load of Strange Coins this week, because there's something for everyone. Doesn't happen all the time. Don't forget... this is Xur's last appearance before the Destiny 2.0 update goes live on Tuesday. And the quantity of Exotics in your vault will contribute to your new, year two level, so cram as much in there as you can!
