DC To Showcase Before Watchmen, The New 52 And Vertigo At Kapow!

Comics giant will bring top executives and talent to UK convention. First time DC and Marvel will have been at the same UK event in nearly 20 years

DC Entertainment announced its plans today to bring some of the company’s top executives and creators to Kapow! to discuss the year’s highly anticipated Before Watchmen , DC Comics The New 52 and four new series from acclaimed adult imprint, Vertigo.

On hand to discuss all things DC Entertainment will be co-publisher Dan DiDio, Vertigo Senior Editor and Before Watchmen series editor, Will Dennis, senior vice president of sales Bob Wayne, and a roster of major talent including Scott Snyder, Peter Milligan and Ian Churchill. This event, which takes place May 19-20, will be occurring only a small number of weeks before the release of the inaugural issues of Before Watchmen on 2 June.

DC Comics – The New 52 is the industry’s most talked about industry-shattering event of the last year. Although the landscape has changed, we’re not done making news! Come by and be a part of history as DCE co-publisher Dan DiDio and senior vice president of sales Bob Wayne discuss the books that are shaping the dawn of this new era along with some of the major talent writing and illustrating these titles, including Scott Snyder ( Batman , Swamp Thing ), Peter Milligan ( Red Lanterns ) and Ian Churchill ( The Ravagers ).

Dan DiDio was named co-publisher of DC Entertainment alongside Jim Lee in February 2010. This announcement coincided with the naming of DC Entertainment’s executive team.

Previously to being named co-publisher, DiDio served as senior vice president and executive editor, overseeing the editorial department for the DC Universe line of comic book titles. As the DC Universe executive editor, DiDio charted the ongoing adventures of Superman, Batman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, The Flash and scores of heroes and villains. He also worked to develop new titles with the industry’s premier writers and artists.

At DC Entertainment, DiDio has spearheaded such bestselling projects as Blackest Night , Green Lantern , Identity Crisis , All Star Superman , All Star Batman And Robin, The Boy Wonder and 52 .

Visitors to Kapow! will be amongst the first in the world to get an exclusive look at upcoming comics, Hollywood blockbuster movies and hit TV shows from the biggest publishers and studios in the world. Kapow! is scheduled to announce the film and TV line up on 3 May, but announced events so far include:
