Hall H Again

…like The Amazing Spider-Man . This is the crowd that spilled out into the streets after the Spidey panel had finished on Friday evening. Food-starved people who'd decked out in the hall all day waiting for Andrew Garfield and co emerged and attemped to get into town to buy some dinner. It took a long, long time.

Open Wide

At the Shark Night 3D party, little isolation cages had been installed containing screens that played the film’s trailer. Oh, and a razor-fanged menace…

Rock Hard

The Hard Rock Hotel, which lies just opposite the Convention Centre, is trussed up in comic-book garb. This year, one side of the building was entirely devoted to The Amazing Spider-Man …

Hard Knock

…the other side was all about Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance . The belated sequel was warmly received at the Con. And with nifty artwork like this, we can see why.

Smurf!

As if Smurfs weren’t scary enough, here’s one the size of Godzilla… Godzilla vs Smurf anyone?

Saddle Up

Just like the Hard Rock Hotel, the Hilton Bayfront (which is round the back of the Convention Centre near Hall H) hosts a ginormous poster from a movie every year. Last year it was Scott Pilgrim – this year it was Cowboys & Aliens.

The Neuralizer

Men In Black 3 didn’t have a panel at the Con this year, but it made itself known with this giant thing, tagged ‘The Neuralizer'. It looks like a massive, updated version of the memory-wiping gadget that Agents J and K use.

Nice To Seat You

Another new MIB oddity, this time a reptilian-style bike that sort of looks like a cross between Batman’s bike and a dragon…

Hot Wheels

Also in the bike department was this crusty creation, which belongs to Ghost Rider himself…

Fag Break

Even Stormtroopers need to take a piss and inhale a little nicotine every once in a while…

For those who fancied recreating the famous upside-down kiss from the first Spider-Man movie, this statue in the exhibition hall came in handy. Just don’t go near the psycho pigeon, he pecks…

Eye Spy

Shark Night 3D stars Dustin Milligan and Sara Paxton pose for photos in front of a rocking shark attraction – the real star is the waitress riding the shark behind them. She’s so happy!

That Bites

The Shark Night 3D party served its very own Shark Night Bite cocktail. We don’t think that cocktail actually contained beer, wine and soda, though it’d definitely explain our hangovers the next day…

Can We Get A Platform?

Just outside the Hard Rock Hotel stood this strange platform and screen, promoting Total Recall ("wouldn't it be funny if it was called Total Reboot ?" quipped one particularly sharp bystander). The two-second display repeated the Total Recall logo over and over again for four days. Who said Americans have short attention spans?

Oh My Todd

Candyman himself was present at the Final Destination 5 party (he's back again playing the creepy coroner in the sequel). It took us over an hour to build up the courage to approach him - yes, that is fear in our eyes.

Real Steel

One of the robots from Hugh Jackman’s futuristic sci-fi Real Steel poses for a few snaps…

Final Destination

Just one of many parking lot parties took place here, but on Thursday it was Final Destination 5 . They aired the film’s central scene of destruction in this bus. It was more comfy than it sounds…

Bell Of The Ball

Emma Bell was an Agenda star in Total Film a few issues ago, and we met her in person at the Con. She was as delightful as ever, and boogied with another cast member as the tunes blasted out during the FD5 party.

Yep, that’s the Convention Centre as seen from the bridge that leads from the Con to the parking lot parties. Under those marquees is the queue for Hall H. It gets very busy there…

Future Fancy

Aha! That platform actually did have a purpose. A day after the screen appeared, this hovercar from Total Recall was revealed. It's very Fifth Element . During the film’s panel, Jessica Biel told us that there’s a hovercar fight in the movie…

I Love Robot

A robotic mercenary from Total Recall . In the footage shown from the film during the Con, we saw this guy in action firing bullets at Colin Farrell.

Kevin Smith

As we queued to get into Hall H on Saturday morning (to watch Francis Ford Coppola’s odd Twixt panel), we spotted Kevin Smith mere feet away interviewing cosplay-wearers... Which makes it all the stranger that he's interviewing these two ladies who aren't in cosplay. Maybe they just smelled nice.

Lego Lovin

Whoever made this had a lot of time on their hands – it’s a life-sized Batman made entirely out of Lego. Still, amazing.

Way Hirsch

Emile Hirsch pitched up during the presentation of The Darkest Hour , his new, Russia-set alien invasion flick. He was very, very lovely. Long live Speed Racer!
