Earlier today the Hollywood Foreign Press Association announced the nominations for the 73rd annual Golden Globe Awards, with America Ferrera, Dennis Quaid, Angela Bassett and Chloë Grace Moretz on hand to read out the great films, actors, and filmmakers who have been recognised for their work.
One of the major takeaways here is that Mad Max: Fury Road scored multiple nominations for Best Motion Picture and Best Director. What a lovely day indeed!
Other films which earned more than one nomination included Todd Haynes' Carol, which leads the pack with a whopping five nominations including Best Motion Picture, Best Director and Best Actress. There's also Steve Jobs, The Revenant, and The Big Short with four nominations apiece, and Room for Best Film, Best Actress, and Best Screenplay. On the TV front, Britain's finest Idris Elba gets a well-deserved nomination for Luther, while Empire and Mr. Robot both nabbed multiple nominations.
