The languid months before a new generation of consoles begins: when people everywhere shun current-gen releases for months in favor of their shiny new counterparts.
But just because you want to start the next-gen with a bang doesn't mean you need to wait. Microsoft today revealed the titles for its $10 Xbox One trade-in upgrade program: Battlefield 4, Madden NFL 25, Need for Speed Rivals, Call of Duty: Ghosts, NBA 2K14, FIFA 14, and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. Watch Dogs is also eligible with Best Buy and Amazon.
You must buy the games within roughly one month of their release on Xbox 360 to be eligible. Then, when Xbox One is released on Nov. 22, you can trade them in for $50 credit toward their next-gen versions.
We've seen the Microsoft Store, GameStop, Best Buy, and Amazon each running their own version of the program so far. Think you'll take advantage of any of these deals, or would you rather just buy them once on your next-gen console of choice?

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and was formerly a staff writer at GamesRadar+.
