Universal Pictures is planning to turn the Japanese manga phenomenon Pluto into a live action/CG hybrid film, reports Deadline . The manga, which has sold over eight million copies in Japan, takes characters from the classic anime Astro Boy and gives them a gritty, adult, murder mystery overhaul in a world populated by giant robots and cybernetic citizens. It will be produced by Chris Meledandri's Illumination Entertainment who gave us Despicable Me this year.
