The November Man review

Brosnan plays... a former spy?

Based on a 1987 novel by Bill Granger, The November Man ’s ominous-sounding title belies its pedestrian CIA-spook-under-duress banalities. Pierce Brosnan, a long way from his Bond days, huffs and puffs his way through a boilerplate thriller that finds his ex-CIA hitman, Peter Devereaux, retired to a coffee shop in Switzerland.

His idyllic life is decimated when he’s forced by his old boss to take on one last mission, extricating a covert op in Russia. To his horror and the viewer’s eye-rolls, things go pear-shaped, and he finds himself a fugitive. Serviceable, but entirely predictable.
