The latest trailer for Injustice 2 sees Harley Quinn and Deadshot join the cast of NetherRealm's superheroic brawler.
Now, this isn't the place to discuss why Suicide Squad was disappointing like a lost balloon - that place is here, in our review - but it's useful for the sake of comparison. Harley Quinn and Deadshot were the best bits in an otherwise dreary film, but the new trailer still does a more favourable job of representing two of DC's most beloved and complex antiheroes.
Harley Quinn in particular looks perfect. As well as her frightening, uncanny-valley face, her move-set is wonderfully on point. Hammers, baseball bats, dynamite - even her pet hyenas Bud and Lou come into play. Deadshot looks more conventional - a slick mix of top-tier martial arts and gunplay - but he's still cool enough to even make Will Smith look like a breakdancing uncle at a wedding.
The addition of Harley and Deadshot brings the roster total to 11 - 13 if you include Bud and Lou - but we can expect many more reveals in the future. Warner Bros has promised the biggest DC roster ever seen in a fighting game. Give us Vandal Savage, or give us death.
Injustice 2 comes to Xbox One and PS4 in 2017.
