We know many of you have been waiting patiently for another Sin City, suffering endless teasing from Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez as to when it might surface. Now there's yet another update.
According to producer Stephen L'Heureux, the film will go into production in the second half of 2010, with Miller and Rodriguez once more teaming up to co-direct, though likely from an original script by Miller instead of directly adapting one of the books.
Frankly, we won't believe it's happening until the pair are actually on the soundstage.
Oh, and he also let slip that Miller is busy writing another adaptation of his work - Hard Boiled, which has slipped into development limbo a little.
"We're still developing it. We got the project in turnaround from Warner Bros and Frank. It's such a pleasure to work with someone like Frank Miller. He's so smart and passionate about story at all levels from 1940s noir pulp to modern film," L'Heureux tells Comics2Film.
Hard Boiled, which was created by Miller and Geoff Darrow, follows a troubled tax collector burdened with the name Nixon who discovers his life is a sham and he's a robot working for a shadowy organisation.
But, as with the delay between Sin films, don't expect to see it any time soon.
"With Sin City just on the horizon I don't think we'd be able to do it with Frank right away. As simple as Sin City seems, it's a very complex scheduling with all these actors and it's a very demanding shoot to be on a sound stage all day long. We have to space it for Frank."
We'd be more excited if The Spirit hadn't happened, but with Rodriguez involved, we're still hopefully for Sin City 2. Whenever it gets shooting…
