SFX uses the Force to secure Star Wars exclusives

The next issue of SFX magazine will celebrate the eagerly anticipated release of The Clone Wars (the new computer animated Star Wars movie) with a choice of covers from Lucasfilm, and a free sample pack of Clone Wars ships.

The September issue of SFX (number 173) covers the exciting new dawn for Star Wars as it evolves from the six films into computer animation, games and a live-action TV show. Star Wars: The Clone Wars is a full-length adventure set between the Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith films. Hitting cinemas on 15 August 2008 it will be followed up later on this year with an animated TV series in the same distinctive style.

On sale Wednesday 30 July, the next issue of SFX enables readers and Star Wars fans to choose whether they go with the “Light Side”, represented by Obi Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker, or chose to follow the “Dark Side” with a cover graced by Count Dooku and the new villain Asaji Ventress. The two striking covers will be split across SFX’s print run and available randomly on the news-stand.

Subscribers will receive an ultra limited third cover, not available in shops, featuring Jedi Master Yoda! Check out the alternating picture on this page to see all three.

Each copy of SFX also comes with an exclusive Star Wars: The Clone Wars PocketModel pack from the new WizKids card game, featuring cardboard ships from the new animated story for you to make and play with.

Inside the issue we grab the UK’s first mag review of the Clone Wars big screen release, and get the low-down on the follow-on TV series. The team also speaks exclusively with insiders at Lucasfilm about George Lucas’s plans to create a live-action Star Wars TV show, due to kick off in 2010. Rounding off the Star Wars expose, SFX takes a peek at the forthcoming Star Wars: The Force Unleashed videogame which boasts revelations about Darth Vader and his secret apprentice.

SFX issue 173, with its split Dark Side/Light Side run and exclusive subscribers' cover, will be available from Wednesday 30 July 2008 with free Clone Wars PocketModel sample pack. Full details of the issue contents - including all our other exclusive features - will be available next week. Watch this space, and may the Force be with you...
