Resident Evil’s 15th anniversary is in full swing, with HD remakes and release dates for Operation Raccoon City, and things are also picking up for handheld survival horror too. The February 7 release of Resident Evil Revelations for 3DS is getting ever closer, and a whole new co-op mode got revealed for it today, along with confirmation Capcom learned from at least a few of its mistakes with The Mercenaries 3D.

The above trailer had more story info than we’d seen in a while, following both Chris and Jill’s arrivals to the spooky boat, the history of bioterrorism and more supporting characters than you can shake a Jill sandwich at. It also adds a little Metroid Prime flavor with the new scanning function. Then there’s Raid Mode, a scored co-op version of some of the maps from Revelations’ campaign. Here’s an extended look at it:

Also Capcom clarified a few murkier issues with the game for Joystiq. First off Revelations does NOT use Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D’s controversial one save slot you can't delete set-up, as you can delete your save whenever you want. And though Revelations works with the 3DS's Circle Pad Pro add-on, it won’t come bundled with it. So you’ll just have to use it at whatever point Nintendo decides to officially start selling it in the US.
