PopCap Games auctioning studio art for childrens' charities

PopCap Games - the casual gaming powerhouse behind titles like Peggle, Zuma and Plants vs. Zombies - has donated a selection of special edition game-related art pieces for an online eBay charity auction in support of Starlight Children's Foundation in the US and SpecialEffect in the UK. And before you ask, yes they do have a hand-painted piece featuring the unicorn from Peggle (but you may have to fight us for it).

Up for bid are a number of original PopCap creations which will be parceled out in groups of nineeveryweek until July 12. This week'slot includes the aforementioned Peggle Bjorn painting on wood, Plants vs. Zombies concept art, a Zuma Blitz Hot Frog print on canvas, and the opportunity to be personally sketched by a PopCap artist. At time of publishing, it's this latter custom-made print that appears to be fetching the most interest, with bids exceeding US$250.

The auction is open to PopCap enthusiasts (and/or generally charitable people) across the globe. All proceeds will be split betweenStarlight Children's Foundation, a North Americanorganization committed to granting special requests for children with serious illness; andSpecialEffect, a UK charity dedicated to making video games accessible to all children with disabilities.
