Have a closer look at how SOE’s Planetside 2 is shaping up. We’ve got a ton of new screenshots of the MMOFPS with a nice mix of images showing the game’s various factions, infantry combat, vehicles, and the game’s day and night cycle.

What you can’t see here is the game in motion. Using SOE’s own Forge Light Engine, fans of the original Planetside should see a much noticeable improvement in just about every visual aspect of the upcoming sequel with realistic physics behavior for just about everything. What does this mean? You can do a barrel roll as you soar through the air, for starters. What more do you need to know?

After you enjoy the eye candy, keep your eye on GamesRadar. We plan to bring you video from SOE’s GDC 2012 demonstration of Planetside 2 soon. Hosted by creative director Matt Higby, the demo will show you air combat, infantry combat, tanks, the game’s cash shop, customization options, stat sheets and much more. Trust us. It’s all super exciting.
