The Dark Knight Rises has been fairly quiet on the publicity front over the last few months, but the film's viral campaign appears to have clicked back into gear with the official website displaying a new wanted poster for Batman.
Visitors to TheDarkKnightRises.com are presented with a case file marked "Anonymous Vigilante Investigation", which when clicked upon reveals the Dark Knight's rap sheet, arrest warrant and wanted poster.
At present, Batman is in the frame for six counts of first degree murder, including the slaying of a pair of police officers and former District Attorney, Harvey Dent. We know different of course, but it's a timely reminder of just how hot a target the Caped Crusader has become.
The file also contains an internal memo sent around the Gotham City PD, stressing the need to apprehend the Batman before "Harvey Dent Day". The memo is actually an invite to eagle-eyed fans to join in a scavenger hunt, with a string of global locations listed at which pictures should be taken and sent to the film's Twitter account.
There are a number of UK locations on the penultimate page, so get out there and get snapping. We're not sure what the reward will be as yet, but it will almost certainly be something cool. The Dark Knight Rises opens in the UK on 20 July 2012.
