The Dark Knight Rises has gone rather quiet since filming wrapped. Having treated us to endless on-set pics and the beginnings of a viral marketing campaign , we haven’t heard much from Gotham City for a good few weeks now.
However, that is all about to change with the emergence of a new plot summary courtesy of Warner licensee FilmCells, who’ve spilled the beans on their official product page.
It goes without saying that the new summary is a little spoilery, so if you want to go into the film completely cold, look away….. NOW!
Right, for those that have stayed, here’s the new description of the plot: “When Commissioner Gordon stumbles upon a plot to destroy the city from within, Bruce Wayne gets back into action as the Batman. Waiting for him is the mysterious Selina Kyle and Bane, a lethal adversary on a crusade to tear apart Batman’s legacy piece by piece.”
Who’s the rotten apple in Gotham, then? Could it be that mysterious Miranda Tate we’ve heard so little about? Nothing is certain as yet, but the plaque to which the above description is attached also contains some interesting plot points.
One of the images accompanying the celluloid snippets reads, “Fugitive James Gordon – report on sight!” Meanwhile, an image of Bane is accompanied by the tagline, “I have your back.” Somebody’s going to get their spine smashed, aren’t they?
The Dark Knight Rises opens in the UK on 20 July 2012. We started crossing off the days a long time ago…
