Game: Jonny Drama
Didn't Come Out: Xbox launch, late 2001
What It Wasn't: Jonny Drama combined then-novel cel shading with groovy art direction, funny gadgets and a retro-cool, beatnik movie star turned secret agent - "all of the fast-paced action of a shooter, without the gore," according to the press release. It was supposed to be publisher Sierra's first Xbox title, an exclusive for the platform, and a quirky focal point for the system's launch. Dig?
Will It Live Again? The answer's no, daddy-o. Jonny went on a permanent freak-out for reasons nobody at Sierra seems to be able to remember (probably just not enough profit potential), and in the hip, modern world of HD gaming, cel-shaded games are so square.
