Mel Gibson's The Beaver poster released online

Mel Gibson

Mel Gibson isn't everybody's favourite person right now, and it seems the guys behind his new film The Beaver sort of know it.

Want proof? Just look at the first official poster for the Jodie Foster-directed film, which features Gibson all-but obscured by a hella scary-looking puppet.

Yes, yes, that's the whole point, what with the film following a man who decides to hide behind a ratty old puppet. But, still, we're pretty sure he'd be a bit more front and centre if it wasn't for his recent troubles.

Of course, we could be wrong about this and it's not a poster for The Beaver at all. Maybe Gibson really has been prescribed a puppet stand-in...

The Beaver opens on 11 February, 2011.
