Layer Cake and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag actor will play the cynical occult detective
Warner Bros TV are producing a pilot based on the John "Hellblazer" Constantine character and Deadline reports that they've cast Welsh actor Matt Ryan in the role.
Ryan may be familiar to SFX readers from season two of Torchwood , he was in Criminal Minds in 2010 and 2011, and his voice is that of Edward Kenway in the recent sci-fi pirate videogame Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag .
The Constantine pilot was written by The Mentalist exec Daniel Cerone from a story co-written with David S Goyer, the chap behind The Dark Knight , Man Of Steel and Da Vinci's Demons .
