Yesterday, the website IESB broke the news that computers and several other items – including photographs and documents – had been swiped from the production office of Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull.
The production team reported the items missing on 24 September and on Tuesday (because this is the age of the blog), several entertainment gossip sites such as TMZ.com were offered as selection of the stolen goods for sale. But the mighty power of the Spielbeard and his friends in the LA Sheriff’s department was about to bring the hammer down.
Detectives apparently posed as potential buyers and arrested a suspect who turned up, arresting the unnamed man (who wants to bet he won’t stay that way for too long?) on suspicion of receiving stolen goods and parole violation.
And now the police are hunting for more suspects, with Steven Spielberg’s spokesman Martin Levy assuring those who would break the sacred trust of the Indy franchise that “We want to warn the media that anything that is offered is stolen property. We know it is out there."
What they’re not telling us is that anyone who touches the stolen items immediately suffers the face-melting demise from Raiders Of The Lost Ark…
