How the Defenders and Avengers could team up - according to Luke Cage and Iron Fist

It's the first question any given Cinematic Superhero Enjoyer is bound to ask about The Defenders: are they ever going to meet The Avengers in the ultimate team-up of team-ups? Marvel and Disney have remained characteristically quiet about the possibilities for the meta-crossover, but Finn Jones and Mike Colter - the actors behind Iron Fist and Luke Cage respectively - were happy to speculate in an interview for the latest issue of SFX, coming out on Wednesday, July 19.

"We’re part of the same universe," Iron Fist's Finn Jones said. "If there ever was a mash-up between the Avengers and the Defenders, I think it’d be really nice to see the Avengers come to the Netflix world. It’d be way more interesting to see those characters fleshed out the same way as our characters are, rather than just see our characters do some big fucking fight scene! There’s nothing cool about that."

"It would be easier to have them come into our world because it would probably be more believable," Luke Cage's Mike Colter added. "There’s not some huge universal thing going on, some intergalactic thing invading the planet or something like that. Stark’s up in the tower…"

The two riffed on concepts for a while before Jones arrived at a pair that he seem particularly enamored with: "Get ’em to Harlem. How good would that be, seeing Tony Stark in Harlem? That’s fucking brilliant! Although it would be cool to see Luke Cage in a different universe, fighting off some dark overlord. That’d be cool. Luke Cage and Iron Fist in space!"
