"We Dare is a sexy, quirky, party game that offers a large variety of hilarious, innovative and physical, sometimes kinky, challenges. The more friends you invite to party, the spicier the play!" said Ubisoft on We Play's website.
"12+" said PEGI. Ah... problem.
You see, the actual content of this suggestive party game is exactly that - suggestive. So if you're rating the content of the disc, then it's probably perfectly suitable for anyone over 12 years old to watch. But it's the action in front of the screen that worried parents, especially in this trailer:
Hmm... stripping? Spanking? APPLE EATING?! So much consternation ensued in the UK after this trailer emerged that the game has been pulled from the territory before release, by its own publisher, Ubisoft. You can argue about the content of the game itself all you want, but put it this way - should the following be viewed by anyone under the age of 18?
Above: Look - you don't even need the game to enjoy its gameplay. Wait...DON'T OPEN THE BLINDS!
PEGI has confirmed it stands by its 12+ assessment. To be honest, it would have been easier if it had just said 18+, then the game could have gone on sale and everyone would have been happy. Interestingly, the game was due for release on PS3 as well as Wii - an odd choice for a 'We something' game.
Were you looking forward to it? Are you amazed that it was only rated 12+? And why does Cundy volunteer for these photos so willingly? Let us know in the comments.
