The Hurricane map condition in Arc Raiders has been announced and will be out with the Shrouded Sky update on February 24 2026, and we've already had a lot of information about what players can expect from these high power winds and turbulent weather. Below we've aggregated all the revealed information on Hurricanes in Arc Raiders, so that you know what to expect when things pick up!
Hurricanes in Arc Raiders explained
Hurricanes are temporary map modifiers that will be added to the game as part of the Arc Raiders Shrouded Sky update. Hurricanes will have the following effects:
- Strong Winds that affect movement. Obviously it'll be windy in a Hurricane, but that can be both good and bad. When walking into the wind, players will move more slowly and suffer impacts to their stamina. When walking with the wind at their back, however, players will move much faster than normal.
- Items and certain attacks are affected. Smoke and gas will be cleared or moved by strong winds, and thrown items (like grenades) can have their trajectories impacted by the gales.
- Debris and shrapnel. Small items and projectiles are thrown about by the wind, doing damage to your shield if they hit you, which both lowers your shield and makes you more noticeable as it sparks and fizzes. It's not clear yet if debris can hurt players if they don't have a shield on.
- Lower visibility. Low clouds and fog, as well as loud winds, can benefit stealthy approaches, though it will make it harder for players to spot Arc robots in the area. Of course, a sparking shield can easily negate that advantage.
- Caches of loot. Raider caches will apparently be unearthed by the strong winds, giving players a chance to grab additional loot.
It's not made clear yet which maps can be affected by Hurricanes (we assume not Stella Montis, but early promotional material shows Dam Battlegrounds and Spaceport under the effect of the torrent.

He is a firm believer that the vast majority of games would be improved by adding a grappling hook, and if they already have one, they should probably add another just to be safe.
