Survival game The Last Caretaker gets 2025 launch window and new trailer that highlights its peaceful loneliness

I'm a little bit in love with the sweet face of the robot you play as in The Last Caretaker. Not that you'll see it much of course, because this is a first-person survival-action game, where you're a robot tasked with the small endeavour of saving humanity.

Thanks to a new trailer at FGS Live from Gamescom, we now know that The Last Caretaker is dropping into early access this year, updated from its previous loose 'coming soon' window.

Expected to be in Early Access for 12 months, with developer Channel37 working directly with the community to make the bext 1.0 version possible, there's plenty to get into from day one.

As the title suggests, you are the last caretaker, who's been awoken on Earth. it's completely flooded, and you're tasked with exploring this oceanic world to rebuild. You'll have to recover lost tech, craft vital systems, and also take care of the Seed Vaults.

In these are the last seeds of humanity that need recovering, and then cultivating via the Lazarus Complex before being launched into the stars. Sounds like a lot of pressure, especially when this flooded world isn't exactly abandoned.

There are rogue machines and environmental threats to protect the dregs of humanity against, so our sweet little robot is also armed to the teeth. And when every bullet counts, it's going to be pretty intense.

The Last Caretaker is due to drop someime this year on PC via Epic and Steam. You can wishlist it right now on Steam.
