Long-time Leon Kennedy actor Nick Apostolides has shouted out Resident Evil 5's co-op partner Sheva Almoar as someone he'd love to see team up with his character in a future Resident Evil entry.
It's pretty clear that Capcom holds some Resident Evil protagonists in higher esteem than the others. It's Chris and Leon at the top; Claire, Ethan, and Jill are a tier below that; and then everyone else. And while the world is probably happy to see a lack of Billy Coen in new entries, the likes of Rebecca Chambers and Barry Burton – who have each had one starring role alongside a supporting role in the first game – would be a welcome return. However, there's one character that Leon himself wants to see as a star again.
Speaking to Skill Up, Apostolides was asked if there was anyone from a past Resident Evil game he would love to see Mr. "Hot Unc" Kennedy interact with in a future installment, to which the actor responded, "I always fantasize about cool partnerships and meetups, and I always have thought that Sheva Alomar from RE5 is such an amazing protagonist," calling her "underutilized."
Apostolides explains, "she's only been in one game. I just love her character and I wish they would bring her back into something, like a new mainline game," adding "I think that would be really cool to have them team up."
Given that the BSAA is in a very different state than it was during the events of Resident Evil 5, based on some plot revelations from Village and Requiem – which resulted in Chris Redfield leaving the organization – there is definitely room for a game featuring Sheva, considering she was a major member of the West African branch of it. Although she'd probably be better suited in a game with her fellow BSAA Special Operations Agent Jill Valentine than Leon.
