Halo Campaign Evolved pre-loading is now available for all platforms and all editions, so whether you're on PS5, PC, or Xbox Series X, you can get the game installed now, ready for the full launch. With the early access period still running, many players can still upgrade, download, and start playing right now, but you may as well get set for July 28 instead. With that, I've explained everything you need to get done before Halo Campaign Evolved's full launch, including pre-loading, so that you can dive in as soon as possible.
How to pre-load Halo Campaign Evolved
To start pre-installing Halo, you obviously must have pre-ordered the Standard Edition of the game on your platform of choice. Bear in mind that if you've got the Premium Edition or the Premium Edition upgrade, you can install and start playing the game now before the Halo Campaign Evolved release time thanks to the included early access period.
With the game pre-ordered, your platform's storefront should automatically begin pre-installing the game right away, assuming you have automatic downloads switched on. Otherwise, check the Halo Campaign Evolved page on your platform's store front or your game library and you should be able to start the early download from there. To ensure you have enough space for it, you should have about 100GB of free space on your console or PC's storage.
I also highly recommend making sure you get your Microsoft account details ready – or make an account if you don't have one while you wait – so that you can get your account linked and start playing Halo with minimal hassle. You can't play the game without an account, and it's used to make crossplay and cross-progression function, so you can play Halo Campaign Evolved with whoever and on whatever eligible platforms you have available to you.
