Highguard crossplay lets you can team up with any of your friends on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, but setting it up is barely explained in the game. It's a rather simple system, requiring you to add friends within Highguard itself using names the game generates for you, but the necessary menu options aren't especially obvious. So, to help you add your friends across different platforms so that you can play Highguard together through crossplay, I've explained the process below.

Crossplay is on by default in Highguard, so you don't need to worry about activating it in any way, and it works for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X – yes, all three platforms can play together and Highguard does not separate PC and console players for crossplay.

The only thing you need to do is search for and add your friends so that they'll show up on your Highguard friends list, regardless of which platform they’re on:

  1. Start by clicking one of the + icons next to your player name in the top-right corner of the screen. This will open the game's Social menu.
  2. Get your friend to tell you their Highguard name. A player's Highguard name is also at the top of your friends list but over to the right, and it's just your platform account name followed by a hash and four numbers.

  1. Click the search bar at the top of your friends list and type in their name. If you typed their name correctly, your friend's playercard should pop up.
  2. Click the playercard, then select 'Send Highguard Friend Request'. Your friend can then check the 'Highguard Friend Requests' tab on their Social menu to accept your request.

Now that you've hopefully got a friend or two on your Highguard friends list, you can team up via crossplay by clicking their name and selecting either 'Invite to Party' to allow them to join you or 'Join Party' to get into their lobby. From there, you can start queueing into matches where the first thing you'll do is choose which of the Highguard Wardens you want to play as.

However, if you do want to turn crossplay off in Highguard and only play with those on the game platform as you, you can do so by opening the game's Settings menu, switching to the Online tab, and then setting 'Enable Cross-Platform Play' to Off.
