Yep, FirstPlay, the PS3's downloadable video magazine and darling sister publication of GamesRadar, rolls out its 50th edition this week. The team are obiously mighty excited (we can see them jumping around across the other side of the office), and they'd like to vent that excitement by telling you all about it.
So won't you let FirstPlay boss-man Nathan do exactly that? The words "exclusive", controversial" and "sadistic" are used. Exciting.
Hello everyone,
50! The rest of the FirstPlay team and I are raising a collective bat to the pavilion and celebrating a half century not out this week, as our fiftieth episode hits the Store. We’ve learned a huge amount in the (almost) year since we launched FirstPlay, and thanks to your feedback we’re getting better every week. Please, please get in touch using the details below to tell us what we do well, what we do badly, and what you’d like to see more of.
But enough about birthdays. Episode 50 is out this Wednesday, and because we love you dearly it comes with an exclusive trial of PSN musical hit Chime Super Deluxe. It’s packed with HD footage of the latest games, and this week is a bit of a reviews special. Verdicts come down on controversial shooter Homefront, Tokyo crime sim Yakuza 4, and there’s a round-up of other PS3 releases including Dragon Age II and Fight Night Champion.
In Network Highlights this week we’re previewing online flank ‘em up SOCOM Special Forces and chatting to the game’s producer, profiling Crysis 2 developer Crytek, and reviewing sadistic flock puzzler Swarm. And, because you only turn 50 once, we’ve also got a special behind the scenes look at making FirstPlay itself. Don’t judge us. We were once like you.
Last but not least we’ve also got our regular screenshot galleries, which this week include the first-party triumvirate of Infamous 2, PlayStation Move Heroes, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, and Konami’s mental demon blaster Neverdead.
All of this comes for just 99p, or less if you pick up a 12 week subscription for £8.99.
