Fast & Furious 8 tears up the streets of Havana in behind-the-scenes video

Vin Diesel and company are headed to Cuba in the next chapter of Fast & Furious, as revealed in a video posted to the film franchise's official Facebook page. The behind-the-scenes video teases the start of a drag race down the colorful streets of Havana - between two of those trademark vintage cars, naturally.

Diesel says Furious 8 is the "first global Hollywood movie" to be allowed to film in Cuba, presumably in decades. Hopefully he turns to the camera at some point in the film and delivers a sincere "Thanks Obama" for reopening diplomatic relations with the island nation. Maybe this is what that poster meant by traveling "new roads"?

Directed by F. Gary Gray and starring Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Charlize Theron, Kurt Russell, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, and Jason Statham, Furious 8 will open in the US and in the UK on April 14, 2017.

I got a BA in journalism from Central Michigan University - though the best education I received there was from CM Life, its student-run newspaper. Long before that, I started pursuing my degree in video games by bugging my older brother to let me play Zelda on the Super Nintendo. I've previously been a news intern for GameSpot, a news writer for CVG, and now I'm a staff writer here at GamesRadar.
