Eureka Seven Vol. 2: The New Vision

The story of Eureka 7 Volume 2 is broken up into smaller "episodes" and told through cinematic sequences in-between bursts of action gaming. The action bits offer a great deal of variety - you'll not only be piloting the series' trademark LFO mecha through heated firefights, but you'll also participate in lifting races, engage in good ol' fisticuffs and beatdowns, and even take off in high-flying dogfights. If you're not keen on sitting through all the technobabble to get to the gameplay, you can dive into Situation Mode instead, where you'll be thrust directly into action sequences. There's also a handy tutorial mode that will show you the controls for all the different machines.

Eureka 7 Vol. 2 has some pretty lofty ambitions, and it'll be interesting to see how the final product pans out. Will this turn out to be one of these rare gems - an anime-based game that's actually worth your time and money? Or will it simply crash and burn? We're hoping for the best, but given the overall track record of these licensed games, we're not setting our expectations sky high.
