Hideo Kojima says that he always thought he'd die in a movie theater, and that's not entirely unsurprising for the diehard cinema fan.
"I'm someone who's always thought when I die, I want to die in a movie theater," Kojima said during a panel, in a video he shared to his own Twitter account. "I like the time before the movie starts the best. Enter the movie theater, the lights turn off, the commercials and trailers play, then just before the movie starts is when I want to pass away."
This makes perfect sense to me considering the fact that Kojima is a certified film buff who, outside of being a creator of some of the world's most popular video games, has also become known for his Twitter movie and TV reviews. The funniest one has to be, by far, his six-word review of Madame Web, which simply read: "Saw Madame Web at the theater." The length of the review, or lack thereof, was enough for fans to gather that he didn't enjoy the Sony movie very much.
In contrast, Kojima recommended Apple TV's surprise horror hit to fans of Stephen King, and said that KPop Demon Hunters made him cry his eyes out.
He also had high praise for Michael Sarnoski's A Quiet Place: Day One, which is good considering that Sarnoski is set to helm the first-ever live-action adaptation of Kojima's Death Stranding.
