Breaking Bad prequel Better Call Saul is about to return to our screens, and a new trailer teases what we can expect. Last year a lot of BB fans were surprised to see how doggedly Bob Odenkirk’s James McGill – destined to become corrupt lawyer Saul Goodman – struggled to stay on the straight and narrow. But this trailer seems to confirm we’ll see him straying from the righteous path sooner rather than later.
With glimpses of Jimmy ripping his name off the door of his shabby office in the back of a nail bar and sipping a drink as he floats in a swimming pool, it looks like he’s about to start living the high life – and the presence of gangster Nacho suggests he’s the man funding it. So far, so predictable… but less expected is the suggestion that Jimmy/Saul might be taking his lawyer friend Kim along for the ride; will season two see her getting sucked into his immoral schemes?
We’ll find out soon enough. Better Call Saul season 2 premieres on AMC in the US at 10/9c tonight, and begins streaming on Netflix UK tomorrow.
