Batman Vs Superman director Zack Snyder has lifted the tarp on the new Batmobile – and given us our first look at Ben Affleck in costume as the Dark Knight.

Following yesterday's half-uncovered tease , Snyder posted the first picture of Batman posing beside his new wheels on his Twitter account.

Needless to say, both have undergone a total remodel, with the new Bat-suit noticably beefier than ever before – and seemingly riddled with some sort of vein effect.

It's obviously inspired by the Bat's appearance in influential comic book The Dark Knight Returns , which also boasted small ears on the cowl and massive Bat logo on the chest.

Affleck definitely cuts an imposing figure. We imagine Superman's quaking in his super-boots right about now.

As for the ride itself, it looks more space age-y than Christian Bale's ride, but – obviously – less campy than the vehicle seen in both Burton's and Schumacher's Bat-flicks.

It should give Affleck something of an edge on the tarmac as he goes up against Henry Cavill's Superman in the sequel to Man Of Steel .
