Sony is considering Playstation VR working on PC

So virtual reality heavy hitters, Oculus and HTC Vive are out this week for PC but Sony could throw a PlayStation VR shaped spanner in the works in future. In an interview with Japanese newspaper Nikkei, Sony's Masayasu Ito has said that the company is "considering" compatibility with PCs. As translated by MSDefenseForce on Reddit, Ito states that while "nothing will happen right away" Sony is looking at making the headset work with PC but the focus is all on PS4 for now.

"Since Playstation 4 shares a lot of its internals with PCs, the possibility is there," says the translation. "At the moment we are focused on games and we are not ready to make any announcements at this stage, but I'd say there will be an expansion into various fields." One of the biggest selling points for the PlayStation VR is its price point in comparison to both Oculus and Vive. At £349/$400 it's by far the cheapest of the three VR headsets, which would give Sony a serious boost if it did decide to let PC gamers in on the action.
