Seven Day Geek: Amazing Spider-Man 2, Evil Dead, Godzilla, Iron Man 3, Justice League Dark

A week is a very long time in the geekverse, with so many talking points it'd be hard for even a zombie (walking / running, take your pick) to keep up.

So, we've gathered all the week's biggest geek news in one place, so that those aforementioned undead can get on with the very serious business of slowly overwhelming their victims / not being canon.

We'd love to hear what you think of the below universe-shattering events, so comment your thoughts at the bottom of the page, and we'll see you next week!

Without further ado, let's get started. But first - hand out some high-fives, Spider-Man!

Not you Hulk.

The Big Event

Chris Cooper has signed up to play Norman Osborn in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 .

Great casting. We can't wait to hear his Green Goblin cackle in the third film.

All together now: "Evil cackle. Evil cackle."

Good Week To Be

Horror fans. We got loads of cool new images from Evil Dead, and a new poster.

Oh, and we got a TERRIFYING teaser trailer for James Wan's The Conjuring.

Looks like 2013 is going to be a scary one!

Most Intriguing Story

We spoke to Mark Wahlberg for a Career In Four Minutes interview this week. During the interview, Wahlberg revealed that he almost had a part in J.J. Abrams' Star Trek .

We deeply wish it had happened - we'd have loved to hear Mark talking about dilithium crystals and spatial anomalies in that distinctive Boston accent.

Marvel Round-Up

Another week, another deluge of awesome Marvel stories.

We got an incredible new Iron Man 3 poster , and some decent character posters - one for Pepper Potts , and one for The Mandarin .

We also got a great look at Andrew Garfield's new Amazing Spider-Man costume - we love those huge eyes.

Dane DeHaan talked bulking up for Amazing Spider-Man 2 (does this mean he's playing Venom? Who knows!)

Joss Whedon talked the Hulk movie , and Captain America 2 was confirmed as a political thriller . All The Avengers' Iron Men , anyone?

Fantastic Four got themselves a new screenwriter , and we got not one , but two images from the set of The Wolverine . Jackman looks jacked, man.

DC Round-Up

Not much from DC this week, so we went out and got some info ourselves, via an exclusive chat with Guillermo del Toro . The Pacific Rim genius gave us some new details on Justice League Dark . Colour us extremely excited.

Delightful Discovery Of The Week

This. Just this.

Bad News Of The Week

Terrible news Green Lantern fans, Mark Strong says the sequel probably won't happen .

We're sorry, we're so very sorry.

Good News Of The Week

The Godzilla reboot continues to surprise and delight us, this time by signing up art-house legend Juliette Binoche to the film about the giant lizard with the atomic breath .

If you like this sort of thing, then we heartily recommend totalfilm.com's weekly viral / meme round-up . It's ace.
