New image from The Raid 2: Berandal brings the action

Ahead of the second trailer for The Raid 2: Berandal , which debuts online later today, a new image from the bruising sequel has landed online.

In keeping with the first film’s love of ball-busting battles, it’s a full-on action shot showing off an outdoor fight scene – replete with soggy tarpaulin.

Considering one of the guys is wearing a T-shirt with The Raid splashed all over it, we're going to assume this is actually a behind-the-scenes image.

Set in the aftermath of Gareth Evans' The Raid , the sequel again follows Officer Rama (Iko Uwais), who’s forced to fight once more – this time for an anti-corruption task force.

His motivation? Protecting his wife and kid, which involves getting close to a mob boss with ties to the Jakarta Police Department.

The Raid 2: Berandal opens in the UK later this year. We’ll be checking it out when it debuts at the Sundance Film Festival this week – look out for our first reaction mini-review.
