Even more footage unveiled in first Star Wars: The Force Awakens TV spot

As we inch closer to the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, more and more footage is making its way onto the web. Just last week we got an unexpectedly revealing international trailer, and the latest sneak peek comes in the form of a thirty-second TV spot, complete with an eerie voiceover.

Check it out below...

This particular spot is narrated by Lupita Nyong’o’s Maz Kanata - who we still haven't seen in any trailers thus far - and she states that she has "lived long enough to see the same eyes in different people." With that telling dialogue spoken over a shot of Daisy Ridley's Rey, it could be a hint to a possible familial connection to one of the old guard from the original trilogy. Speaking of which, there are new shots of Harrison Ford's Han Solo, as well as fresh looks at Kylo Ren and Poe Dameron.

This is likely the first of many TV spots, and the marketing team would do well to recycle old footage as opposed to releasing too many fresh snippets. The Amazing Spider-Man franchise made this mistake (twice!), so here's hoping the marketing department behind The Force Awakens will continue their stellar campaign as we move into the home stretch. Not long to go now!

Directed by J.J. Abrams and starring Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie and Oscar Isaac, Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in UK cinemas on December 17 2015 and in the US the following day.
