Game of Thrones' Davos is getting MMA training ahead of season 7

When it comes to hard-hitting combat on the small screen, there are few shows who do it better than Game of Thrones. 'The Battle of the Bastards' - which featured Liam Cunningham's Ser Davos fighting alongside Jon Snow - was a testament to that fact, and if this footage of Cunningham training with UFC coach John Kavanagh is anything to go by it won't be the last time we'll see the character's fighting skills in action.

Cunningham isn't the first Game of Thrones actor to get some fight training while the show is off air; Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson - who plays The Mountain - has also sparred with Kavanagh between seasons. In any case, this could indicate that Davos will be involved in a few more scraps in season 7. With the White Walkers on the horizon, Jon Snow's lieutenant will need to summon every fighting trick in his arsenal.
