One of the more heart-warming tales in the world of transmedia licensing wrangles recently has been horror homage Slasher Vol. 1: Summer Camp getting the official go-ahead to become the first Friday the 13th video game since 1989. That was probably the least of its troubles - it then had to get funded. Luckily, the backers have come through, helping the game hit its $700,000 goal with time to spare.
A multiplayer murder sim/survival game, which pits one Jason against a campful of teenage stereotypes, it aims to be the "ultimate asymmetrical horror experience". The crucial level of backing might have been achieved, but there are still, by my count, approximately a million stretch goals to meet - most of which add the ability to perform famous kills from the film series (at time of writing, we've already hit the "Sleeping Bag kill" and the "Mirror Smash"). If you want to chuck it some more money, and net yourself a copy of the game on PC, Xbox One or PS4, head to the Kickstarter page while you still can.
