Bungie admits it should have addressed Destinys heavy ammo glitch sooner

One year on, it's safe to say that Destiny is still going strong. With more players than ever filling its servers and new expansion The Taken King now doing the rounds, Bungie can start to roll out its plans for year two. However, just because Destiny's numbers are bucking the traditional dropoff most MMOs endure doesn't mean the studio is resting on its laurels. In fact, it's been hard at work addressing a number of issues and exploits that have held the game back over the past 12 months. Including a little glitch that regularly deprived players of their hard-earned heavy ammo.

"We should have hit it harder right away," admits community and marketing relations manager Eric Osborne in the latest issue of Edge. "We didn’t really understand how impactful it was, or how protracted it was going to be. By the time we got around to communicating it – ‘Hey, this is a pretty sensitive bug, it has a big impact if we don’t get it right, so we’re taking our time’ – it was already too late. We’ve had to learn that even though it’s sometimes a sensitive topic, we still have to get out there and hit things right away, even though it makes a lot of people uncomfortable."
