Lord of the Rings Online dev looking at console MMOs?

LotRO developer recruiting a PS3/360 programmer

Turbine Studios, the team behind Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar, is advertising for a new senior console engineer for either the Xbox 360 or PS3.

No specific games are mentioned in the vacancy featured on the company's own website, but it does call for the applicant to be involved with updating Turbine's own MMO engine and tools to consoles.

The engine currently supports both Dungeons and Dragons: Stormreach and Lord of the Rings Online.

Turbine has also recently received a cash injection of $40 million to develop new properties and foster development. Is the timing of these two occurences purely a coincidence?

We certainly imagine $40m could go some way toward solving the problems LotRO executive producer told us about when he discussed bringing the game to consoles last month.
