i think microsoft are just worried. nintendo, yet again are gonna wup them again with inferior tech. the wii succeeded because it was the best console with the best games. and it succeeded without CoD. almost godly. i have no doubt it'll shit on whatever shitbrick MS releases next. Sony isn't even worth mentioning. except to point out how pointlessly pointless mentioning them is.

With the best games? How exactly? Wii gets 1, maybe 2 great games a year. PS3 and 360 often get 1, maybe 2 great games a month (and in November, in a week).
  • PhantasyPopStar - July 4, 2012 10:35 a.m.

wii sports! wii fit! wii play! the conduit!(360 graphics beaten down by the wii) rock band! wii music! metroid other m! my aquarium! just to name a few.. far more fun than repetitive shooting and.. well.. repetitive shooting, which is all the xbox is.

"far more fun than repetitive shooting and.. well.. repetitive shooting, which is all the xbox is." aaaaaannnnddd there goes any credibility you may have had. stupid, stupid comment.
  • PhantasyPopStar - July 4, 2012 11:56 a.m.

  • PhantasyPopStar - July 4, 2012 11:58 a.m.

NOOO! the power of the letter n.. damn you Shigzy.. you may have won this round..
  • PanicJester - July 4, 2012 12:06 p.m.

well the wii does have more sells then the other consoles but better games? eh.. not so much. Some of the games you mentioned are barely even decent... and sure shooting games are repetitive, almost as much as just shaking a controller in the air while you play 90% of the wii games. I am looking foward to the wii-u tho but im hoping its nothing like the wii X[).

Fanboy much? All 3 systems are successful. Each has strengths and weaknesses.
  • PhantasyPopStar - July 4, 2012 10:41 a.m.

not a fanboy. Nintendo are just much better than its feeble competition..
  • Tjwoods18 - July 4, 2012 12:27 p.m.

Constant repitition in its software does not make it better than all of the rest. Compared to microsoft and sony, nintendo relies the most on old video game rehashes.
  • Chambertlo - July 4, 2012 6:34 p.m.

If Sony and Microsoft had franchises that sold over 10 million copies per game, I can guarantee that they would be doing the same thing. Sony/Microsfot WISH they had the franchise catalog that Nintendo has. No other company can compete.

Where are those charming Troll Hunters when you need them?
  • PhantasyPopStar - July 4, 2012 11:27 a.m.

fierce opinion doesn't always equal troll..
  • avantguardian - July 4, 2012 11:58 a.m.

blind fanboyism, hyperbole, incessant need to respond to any comment. TROLL if you're gonna do it, at least show some pride.
  • PhantasyPopStar - July 4, 2012 1:03 p.m.

aren't you just the cutest!!! ^^, go on now! go eat a burger and feel oh so prooouud, just the smartest boy ever! top of the class they said! d'awwwww...
  • avantguardian - July 4, 2012 4:40 p.m.

see, now you're just tryin' too hard.
  • Chambertlo - July 4, 2012 6:35 p.m.

When these "opinions" cannot be supported by fact, then you are a troll. Simple as that.
  • Mooshon - July 4, 2012 9:37 a.m.

Nintendo have the quality and the bank balance to make sure even an underpowered Wii U will be a success. I can't help but feel they're slightly barking up the wrong tree though - but damnit you've got to love the idealism. Unless I find a bag of money I think I'll be opting out of this one. Come the digital distribution revolution though I'll sure as hell be subscribing to the Nintendo channel.
  • Cyberninja - July 4, 2012 9:23 a.m.

I want to know what sony thinks since mircosoft has the wiiu figured out.
  • Tronto13 - July 4, 2012 9:18 a.m.

Despite all the "hardcore" games they are putting on it the main group buying the wiiU will still be casual gamers. The Wii cannot compete power wise with the current generation but sold ridiculous amounts of units. The WiiU is probably of a similar power to the 360 but will probably be able to keep up with the next gen consoles in terms of sales due to its wider, casual audience coupled with the big nintendo fans and Im sure many people will buy one to have all the consoles or because they are curious to how it will play.
  • Tjwoods18 - July 4, 2012 9:05 a.m.

I still believe that they cannot compete with microsoft and SONY
  • Chambertlo - July 4, 2012 6:38 p.m.

In what way? Nintendo kicked both Sony and Microsofts asses by what seems like the widest margin in gaming history. Maybe they can't compete in specs or power, but they sure can kick their asses with technologically inferior hardware. It's all about the games, homey. Look at how bad Vita is doing compared to the 3DS.
  • Galgomite - July 4, 2012 8:53 a.m.

It's Nintendo! They've been practically going it alone now for 10 years, third parties be damned. This means that the best-looking versions of Mario, Zelda, Mario Kart and Smash Bros. will be found on the Wii U, and the rest doesn't matter. I'll never own a Nintendo console ONLY, but I'll always own Nintendo consoles as long as they're making great first party software. And am I the only one who thinks Watchdogs isn't that amazing to look at?
