It would seem that Bryan Singer’s latest, the Tom Cruise-starring, World War Two drama Valkyrie, is rapidly on its way to becoming known as “the ill-fated Valkyrie”.
Having your release date pushed back once is bad luck; twice – from Oscar-hopeful territory October to, er, not-so-Oscary February across the pond seems like trouble.
It’s hardly good news for Cruise and his attempt to breath life into United Artists. But MGM is staying positive, remarking that they’re happy with a big holiday release (it’s President’s Day that weekend, apparently), so we’re still hopeful that it’ll turn out to be better than everyone seems to fear… Variety is watching the issue.
