How to get Sylveon in Pokemon X and Y

Pokemon X and Y's only evolution that comes from a previously released Pokemon is Sylveon, the newest Eeveelution. But with Eevee already having a ton of different evolutions that take advantage of nearly every element of the Pokemon games (different stones, different times of day, different moods), the actual means of turning Eevee into Sylveon were unknown. Many speculated it would involve Moon Stones, or leveling up an Eevee with a different Fairy-type Pokemon, or something else, but after spending a few dozen hours in the game we have the solution--as well as a video that shows exactly how to do it.

First, you'll need to teach your Eevee a fairy-type move, but that's not enough! You also need to make it very, very happy. The solution lies in the new Pokemon-Amie system, which allows you to play and pet your Pokemon. In order to evolve to Sylveon, you're going to need to have all three sections in Amie--Affection, Fullness, and Enjoyment--up to max. Filling up Enjoyment is as easy as playing a bunch of minigames, and that will give you enough snacks to make sure your Pokemon's Fullness is max.

Once you've maxed out all three of these teach your Eevee a fairy move, level up, and--bam! You're the proud owner of a shiny new (well, not actually shiny, most likely) Sylveon! Take note to make sure your Fullness is maxed going into battle, since it can go down over time (or between battles), but as long as you follow these instructions you'll have a Sylveon after about an hour or two's work!

You just need it to know one fairy type move and 2 hearts in Amie. And taking more than 70 hours is pure ridiculous. One can accidently find it withen the first hour of gameplay if you decided to take an eevee with you.

I just went got an Eevee from the tall yellow flowers near the standing stones around the daycare. after a bit they start coming up frequently females are very rare but a little persistence will get you one. If it has Doe Eyes or whatever that Fairy type move is just play with it a while max the Amie (some say max isn't necessary) and just level it up when there's an orange musical note above it. one Fairy type move is key. mine evolved at Lv.20 then have it leading the party and switch out for shared xp with XP Share off so you get more and it'll level fast. Fairy badge gives you TM88 which is a nice Fairy Type move to teach it. Hope this helps some people out. if you get lucky and find a female eevee throw it in the daycare with a male and start getting some eggs then you can go about your business and rack up some Eevees. I'm trying to get a Sylveon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon party lol.

Well as they said it doesn't take 1-2hrs prob 15-30mins depending on how much your activity with evee is. He/She evolved at level 10 with 4/5 affection, 3/5 fullness and 3/5 enjoyment.

You don't have to max out any stats to get Sylveon, cause I didn't. Sylveon is an awesome Special tank. My Sylveon, which I unofficially named "Captain Fabulous," might just be my best Pokemon on my team. Teach it Calm Mind, and it'll be unstoppable.

i have a eevee and it knows Baby-Doll eyes will that work?
  • Doctalen - October 13, 2013 7:18 p.m.

It worked for me, also I'm not totally sure about the amie part of evolving eevee. I was only at 2 bars of affection/fullness/enjoyment but a level up with Baby Doll Eyes did the trick.

What level were you? Leveling from 19-20 with Baby Doll Eyes and no Amie didn't do it for me.

It went from 19-20 it evolved. I'll see if I can replicate this weirdness

So I just managed to get my second Slyveon. It evolved at level 22, two affection, three fullness, and 4 enjoyment. Also right before eevee evolved, I fed it a ton of puff including those from the hard missions. After that Eevee did a big old dance and a ton of hearts appeared, like 12-18 of them.

  • autumn-meyer - October 14, 2013 6:26 a.m.

You'll find an eevee in Geosenge Town. However, it may take you a while to find one. I found and caught one in the tall yellow flowers. Plus, they probably will mostly be boy eevees.
