Surely this special edition God of War PSP is the wrong colour?

Shares

You may remember that Sony recently revealed a God of War: Ghost of Sparta Entertainment Pack. Well, the first images of that pack have now been circulated. Take a look:

Seeing it again, I can't help thinking that the black and red PSP-3000 is the wrong colour. Yes, it’s a classic colour combo and I think it looks pretty sweet. But in order to achieve optimum palette coordination with Kratos, surely it should be white and red? I would have thought that would be the correct and authentic choice. Black and red makes me think of Knight Rider. Not God of War. God of War is most definitely white and red.

Either way, the Ghost of Sparta Entertainment Pack is due for release in the US on November 2. Price is still to be confirmed and there's no word on whether or not there will be an equivalent UK bundle. The pack contains:

* Black and Red Two-Toned PSP-3000
* God of War: Ghost of Sparta UMD
* God of War: Chains of Olympus PlayStation Network Downloadable Game Voucher
* Kick Ass – UMD Movie
* 2 GB Memory Stick Pro Duo

After the UMD-less future prophesised by the PSP Go, it's kind of weird that Sony has stuck with the older model PSP for this bundle. And who even knew that UMD movies still weren't extinct yet? Amazing!

also they are making the old psp 3000's still because the psp go is still very new, lots of people still have UMD collection..its like the ps3 not being able to play ps2 games wen it frst came out, wat do u do with your umd's wen u buy a psp go...u no longer have ur umd games...wat u sell them to a game shop or something...seems pointless unless u nvr had a psp b4 n want one I.M.O.

i dont see the big eal..if it was red n white or red n black...i bought this psp pack recently cuz my old psp crapped out! i think its nice, the black n red go better then a white n red...shuldnt matter if it matches EXACTLY! not like its blue n purple GOW psp....colour is nothing..

That thing is an atrocity! Looks like a 'riced out' PSP. White FTW!

Damn, this pack makes the Peace Walker Big Boss bundle look lame in comparison. Oh wait, it doesn't come with a case and only has a 2GB card. Oh well. For a first-time PSP buyer, it looks like an awesome deal!

It is quite a sweet package but i can see your point mate. White would of made it just slightly more right.

Well there was that flashback near the end of god of war 3 where kratos was black and red and after you beat the game you can play as black and red kratos using the fear kratos skin. It would look better if it was White and red but I still don't see who would buy this. The god of war fans already have psp's for chains of olympus and a psp 2000 with kratos on the back. I think it's too late to invest in a psp anyways. I would just wait for the psp2.

Maybe they confused Kratos and Red Mist from Kick-Ass because that's Red Mist colors. I know I get Kratos and Red Mist confused all the time.

They already did a white and red God of War PSP. Remember this? http://www.itechnews.net/wp-content/uploads/2008/02/god-of-war-psp-entertainment-pack.jpg

They could at least use that design shown on Kratos' swords on the faceplate.

If I got this, my PSP and DS could be twins! =3 Except, you know, one is way better than the other.

I think this may be for the best. White and red might not look to good.

In all honesty I think it looks tacky. Like you just found it in a toy box tacky, and not Sony at all. White and red might have got away with it...

@dhelor You are not wrong. But neither am I. At least, I don't think so.

It had to be black to be racially unoffensive. If it were white, well that'd just be racist.

The first time I saw this I really liked it...now not so much. It looks kinda cheap from further away

i think it looks weird. I like the full red one bundled with CoO

The center area on the blade of Kratos' weapons -> black and red. You can see it conveniently in the picture posted on this very article.

Maybe its black and red to mimic the sequence at the end of GOW3
  • oufour - September 2, 2010 1:17 p.m.

i like how kick ass is included with the god of war games, just to let you know what they are. also it's black and red, big deal. they could just as easily make it solid black.
