Daisy Ridley knows the name of Star Wars 8, but she's not telling

Update: August 27, 2016

If you thought the few people who would know the name of Star Wars 8 by now would be the cast, you were wrong because Daisy Ridley has admitted that although she's heard a title... she doesn't know it's definitely correct.

The actress appeared on the My Dad Wrote a Porno podcast (which incidentally, if you haven't discovered yet, you really need to add it to your listen list) and talked briefly about the Star Wars 8 name:

"I heard a title, but I don’t know if it’s going to be that. I really don’t know much about anything. I heard the title a long time ago before we started filming, and so I feel some things have slightly tweaked during production. It’s going to be a while before it’s released I imagine."

Ok, so she does know a title and although she says it could have changed, that might just be her way of avoiding the question. And even if it has changed, I still want to know what title Episode 8 had originally! Something tells me we won't be getting Daisy to spill the details any time soon though. Sigh.

Star Wars 8 has a name. If you don't want to know what it is, don’t read on. And why the hell did you click anyway?

Last chance, leave now or forever ruin the surprise. If you absolutely have to know then head on past the disapproving ewok and find out.

The info seems to have leaked ahead of an upcoming Star Wars Celebration Europe event and names the next movie as ‘Fall of the Resistance’. Now let’s all be cautious here because it could easily be faked.

The Star Wars Celebration Europe event is due to be held from July 15 to the 17 so this could be early preproduction stuff. Unless there’s a denial or further confirmation though it’s unlikely we’ll find out until closer to the event itself.

Directed by Rian Johnson and starring Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Laura Dern, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, and Benicio del Toro, Star Wars 8 opens in cinemas on December 15, 2017.
